WATER TANK LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEMS & SENSORS

If you are searching for “level control systems”, “liquid level control system“, “water level control system“, “tank level control system“, “electric level control system”, “electronic water level controllers” or “electronic water level sensor, Waterline Controls™ can help! We sell many different types of level control systems and sensors. Learn more about our systems and controllers below.

Liquid Level Control System

Some industry professionals need to control the level of liquid such as fuel or oil. Liquid level control systems do this in the same way as water level control systems does. All of our systems come with solid state electronics, dry-contactor digital circuitry, LED light indication, high and low alarm options, press to check functions, and a 15 year minimum duty life cycle with a 99% uptime rate.

Water Level Control System

Our water level control systems are reliable and use sensors that do not foul, deteriorate or rust like other water level sensors do. Cooling tower operators and others understand the benefits of a reliable automatic water level control system. This system keeps an eye on your water levels for you and automatically controls pumps and other devices to reliably control water levels in water storage tanks and other applications.

Electronic Level Control System

The following features are incorporated into all WaterLine Control units. Whether you’re a specifying engineer, distributor, service technician or building maintenance supervisor, here are the key features to look for when selecting your next electronic water level control system:

  • Solid State Electronics – no moving parts or mechanical floats to break or rust will ensure extended durability and trouble-free maintenance
  • Advanced Modular Design – saves money by easily replacing individual parts instead of replacing the entire unit
  • Dry-contact Digital Circuitry – makes it easy to integrate with existing building automation systems
  • Easy to Install – saves time and labor costs with a quick-connect design (should install in less than 1 hour)
  • LED Indicator Lights – makes it easy to quickly view the current status of all functions
  • “Press to Test” Feature – one push of a button starts a complete validation cycle to ensure all systems are working properly
  • Reliably Accurate – compensates for wave action and manages water levels to within 1/8” of operating range
  • Built to Last – minimum 15 year average duty cycle with a 99% uptime rate
  • Warranty – manufacturer should offer a minimum of 5 years on all major components
  • Superior Tech Support – no runarounds, no guessing, no stupid answers – find a company where you can talk directly to the person who’s been designing & installing electronic water level controllers for more than 20 years

Recommending, specifying or installing an electronic water level controller with the above features will guarantee hassle-free installation, superior performance, satisfied users and low-cost operation for many, many years.

Electronic Water Level Controllers & Sensors

Our electronic water level controllers use a new technology never before seen. These systems have been performing in the field for the past 10 years as of 2018.  The technology is a state dependent frequency monitor and here is how it gets deployed with our expertise.

A microprocessor controlled frequency state change detection method uses a low amplitude signal generated on multiple sensor probes of differing lengths. Each probe has a frequency separate from all other probes in the array and independently changes state when touched by water. The state change of the frequency on each probe is monitored by a microprocessor which can perform multiple water level control functions.

A strength of state dependent frequency monitoring is long term stability of the sensing probes. The signal strength is not sufficient to cause fouling, degradation, or deterioration of the sensors due to electrolysis in contaminated water. Sensor cleaning requirements are minimal or eliminated. Use of multiple sensing rods of different length allows the user to intuitively set up control switches at various water heights.

The microprocessor in a state dependent frequency monitor can actuate valves and/or large pumps with very low power consumption. Multiple switch controls can be built in to small package while providing complex, application specific functionality using the microprocessor.  Low power consumption of the controls is consistent across large and small field applications. This universal technology is used in applications with wide ranging water quality.

We use an electronic sensor that contains multiple stainless steel probes that are inserted into the water based liquid being measured.  These sensor probes never foul, plate or degrade, no matter the water quality. The electronic sensor array is connected to our controller, which runs software to determine the water level and activate relays accordingly. The relays can be connected to any operation, but are primarily used for valves, pumps, and alarms. Each probe on the sensor array is responsible for a different function. For example, the WLC 6000 sensor array contains six individual probes that cut out the water heater, activate a “low alarm”, turn on a fill valve, turn off a fill valve, and activate a “high alarm”. There is also a complete line of pump down controls too.  Our various sensors contain different combinations of these functions, and many are custom designed to fit the needs of the customer’s requirements.

WATER TANK SERIES

Solid State Electronics

We use all solid state electronics in our water level controller. This eliminates durability problems inherent in the previously used off-the-shelf electrical parts. The only moving parts in the new designs are the relays which can be easily tested and inexpensively replaced by any electrician or skilled operator. This advanced modular design eliminates the need to replace the entire unit—creating considerable savings over the lifetime of the unit. The solid state electronics also enable the use of extremely low voltage (less than 1 volt) controlled by software. This minimizes or eliminates the rusting, mineral fouling and deterioration of the sensor probes—significantly extending the useful life of the electronic water level control. Water Quality is not a problem for Waterline Controls™. Because we believe safety is a top priority, all of our products are ETL Listed to the industrial Controls UL Standard 508.

Integrated firmware (software) now controls all functions of the relays and the sensing. It enables operators to easily verify proper operation with a simple visual scan of the LED lights associated with each function. The integrated firmware and dry-contact digital circuitry allows the new electronic water level controllers to easily and quickly connect to building automation systems for continuous monitoring.

Here at Waterline Controls™, we believe that there should be one core technology to manage all the wet applications in a facility. All of our units work very similarly so learning the operation of one lets the facility personnel know how all of them operate. This makes Long term maintenance easier for the facility. WaterLine Controls™ is a stand-alone technology with Building Automation System (BAS) connections. This feature allows the facility operator to electronically “see” all the applications and mange them hassle-free. See It! Control It! In some of the Waterline controls™, the devices it operates can be activated and deactivated via the BAS – Remote operations.

Low Cost

In most cases, the total lifetime cost of operation and replacement parts for the new electronic water level controller and sensors is less than that for the original “toilet tank” float design.

The above advancements in technology and design have eliminated the problems of poor durability caused by deterioration, fouling and pitting of the sensor probes. This old technology created a high cost of replacement inherent in the original electric-relay water level controllers. The new solid state electronic water level controllers with integrated firmware now offer hassle-free installation, little to no maintenance for the entire life, superior performance and minimal cost of operation for many, many years (much longer than the lifecycle of original electric designs). Check out our sensor page to view the various water level sensor types in the industry and how they compare to Waterline Controls™.
